Dr Bill
Baker
- After a varied career in the contaminating
industries, including nuclear reprocessing,
asbestos, rubber, plastics and packaging, Bill was
appointed Director of Industrial Research
Laboratories (IRL) trading under Birmingham City
Council. After twenty years dealing with the many
technical problems of local authorities and the
construction Industry he was pleased to join the
newly formed Environment Agency based at the
National Groundwater & Contaminated Land Center in
Solihull. His work there involved the management of
contaminated land remediation capital projects,and
the implementation of Part IIA. He also gave
essential technical support to DEFRA on the
supervision of SCA funding for local authorities.
Earlier this year he retired from the Agency but
continues to work as a contaminated land consultant
and acts as advisor to the CIEH on contaminated land
training. |
